Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant PhD (NQF Level 10) in social, natural, or economic sciences
- Minimum 5 years of research experience
- At least 7 peer-reviewed journal publications
- Proven experience conducting research across African countries
Preferred Expertise:
- Good governance, human rights, and the rule of law
- Familiarity with frameworks like Agenda 2063, SADC STI Protocol
- Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Use of advanced statistical analysis tools
- Ability to integrate technology and innovation in multi-disciplinary research
Responsibilities:
- Lead policy-relevant research and contribute to funding proposals
- Publish in accredited journals and open access platforms
- Collaborate with scholars and policymakers within and beyond South Africa
- Represent AISA in regional engagements and travel across Africa
- Guide junior researchers and support strategic partnerships
- Co-develop research around AI, climate change, and digital innovation
- Promote application of AISA’s research outcomes through cross-border collaboration
