Post Title: Assistant Director: IT Support
Reference Number: 0001/2025
Salary: R444 036 per annum (Level 09) – Progression up to R532 602 per annum based on performance
Requirements:
- Senior Certificate plus a 3-year National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in ICT or equivalent (NQF Level 6/7)
- Additional certifications in IT service support and cloud hosting (advantageous)
- 3–5 years’ experience in ICT Service Desk, Incident Management, Server Support, Network Admin, and Infrastructure Project Management in the public sector
- Knowledge of:
- Government ICT procurement and SITA processes
- Technical, hardware, and software support
- Network types: LAN, WAN, Point to Point
- Firewalls, Endpoint Security, Security Gateways
- BAS emulation servers, transversal systems
- CGICTPF (2022) and public service frameworks
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
Duties:
- Coordinate ICT requests and technical support services
- Manage ICT incident tracking and resolution
- Administer firewalls and hosted filtering services
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and operational targets
- Oversee infrastructure upgrades (LAN, WAN, Servers)
- Manage PABX/hosted telephone infrastructure
- Maintain and monitor ICT infrastructure
- Conduct user satisfaction surveys to improve services
