3. Field Ranger (Level 4) – Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve
Location: Heidelberg, Western Cape
4. Field Ranger x2 (Level 4) – Swartberg World Heritage Site and Nature Reserve Complex
Location: Oudtshoorn, Western Cape
Minimum Requirements (All Posts)
- Grade 12 certificate
- At least 2 years’ experience in protected area management
- Valid driver’s license (minimum three years’ experience)
- Working knowledge of the National Environmental Management Protected Areas Act
- Knowledge in ecological monitoring, law enforcement, and incident response
- Ability to swim and perform field ranger duties
- No criminal record
- Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
- Computer literacy (MS Office, GIS)
Recommendations (Advantageous):
- National Diploma in Nature Conservation / Marine Science
- EMI Grade 5 or Peace Officer certification
- Firefighting certificate and ICS 100 certification
- Experience with 4×4 driving and GIS software
