Business and Arts South Africa NPC (BASA) is excited to announce a vacancy for the position of Debut Programme Administrator based in Johannesburg. This full-time, 12-month fixed contract is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about contributing to the growth of South Africa’s vibrant arts sector.

About BASA

Founded in 1997, BASA is a dynamic collaboration between government and the private sector, designed to foster greater involvement in the arts from businesses across South Africa. As a public benefit organisation, BASA continues to be instrumental in supporting the cultural landscape of the country through innovative programmes and strategic partnerships.

Position Overview: Debut Programme Administrator

As the Debut Programme Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating BASA’s youth arts programmes, particularly the Debut Programme. This role requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a deep understanding of arts administration and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Logistics & Planning: Coordinate all aspects of the Debut Programme, including workshops, training sessions, and other events.
  • Communication & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for Debut Programme participants, facilitating smooth communication about training, workshops, and related activities.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the team to provide support for facilitators and provincial liaisons, ensuring all program elements are executed effectively.
  • Reporting & Evaluation: Assist the research team with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of programme outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with service providers and stakeholders involved in curriculum development, training, and facilitation.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A relevant qualification in Arts Administration or Arts Management (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar administrative role, ideally within the arts sector.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in multiple South African languages.
  • A passion for the cultural sector with a strong commitment to promoting the arts.
  • Strong administrative skills and a solid work ethic.
  • Proficiency in digital and social platforms.
