Are you a marketing expert with a passion for brand building and strategic communication? Do you have experience in developing and executing high-impact marketing campaigns in both the private and public sectors? The Auditor-General South Africa (AGSA) is looking for two Specialist: External Marketing professionals to join their team and contribute to enhancing AGSA’s brand reputation, stakeholder engagement, and employee experience.

About the Role: Specialist – External Marketing x2

As a Specialist in External Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving AGSA’s marketing strategies and campaigns. The primary goal of this position is to enhance AGSA’s brand visibility and reputation across various stakeholders, including government, parliament, business, civil society organizations, universities, students, media, and the public.

The role involves managing end-to-end marketing functions, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring that AGSA’s brand promise is consistently delivered across all touchpoints.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing & Brand Management

  • Build AGSA’s Brand: Increase brand awareness and strengthen AGSA’s reputation by engaging stakeholders like government officials, business leaders, civil society organizations, and the general public.
  • Campaign Leadership: Lead integrated marketing campaigns from ideation to execution, focusing on AGSA’s graduate recruitment, employer brand, and talent retention.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop and track marketing metrics to gauge the success of campaigns, brand health, and effectiveness. Use insights to optimize future strategies.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with internal teams and business units to align marketing efforts with AGSA’s strategic objectives.

Production Management

  • Market Research & Trend Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, audience preferences, and competitor activity to inform campaign strategies.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work with the creative team to develop compelling marketing materials that resonate with AGSA’s target audience. Ensure consistency in messaging and design.
  • Channel Management: Manage all marketing channels, ensuring optimal engagement through both traditional and digital platforms.
  • Campaign Execution: Oversee the distribution of marketing content across internal and external channels, ensuring it aligns with the AGSA brand standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Service Provider Management: Oversee relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

People and Financial Management

  • Team Leadership: Manage performance and productivity within your team, contributing to AGSA’s transformation and culture initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Contribute to the budgeting process and manage allocated project budgets effectively, ensuring compliance with AGSA’s financial policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience Required

Formal Education

  • Minimum Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ Years of Marketing Experience: A minimum of 5 years in developing and managing marketing campaigns, preferably in both the private and public sectors. Experience in the public sector is an advantage.
  • Campaign Execution: Proven experience in executing integrated marketing strategies and campaigns across a variety of channels, including digital, social, and traditional media.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to manage relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
