Post Title: Research Technician: Analytical Services – Microbiology
Responsibilities include:
- Performing microbiological analyses such as Total Aerobic Count, Coliforms, E. coli, Yeast and Mould, Listeria, Salmonella, and more.
- Handling antibiotic and phosphatase detection.
- Planning and executing tests per ISO 17025 quality standards.
- Capturing and processing analytical data accurately and on time.
- Assisting with stock control, procurement, lab maintenance, and administrative tasks.
- Contributing to equipment upkeep, safety compliance, and training of junior staff.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: National Diploma in Microbiology or Biotechnology.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory is advantageous.
- Strong computer literacy (MS Office), attention to detail, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work both independently and in a team.
- Valid driver’s license and/or own reliable transport.
